Objective of the Department: The primary objective of the Department of the cooperative is to see that that Cooperative Societies are organized and managed in lines of the basic Cooperative principles for the promotion of the economic interests and welfare of the people and to render guidance and assistance for the development of cooperative movement in the UT. Vision: Create and maintain a socially and economically sustainable cooperative system Mission: Promote, regulate and felicitate the social economical and cultural needs of the cooperative sector and community within the purview of statues. |

Centrally Sponsored Schemes as under: 1.Development of Commercial Poultry under cooperative Sector with the help of NCDC sponsored scheme . Total number of Poultry Societies registered in district Budgam 63 Number of societies funded under NCDC sponsored scheme 18. And so far an amount of Rupees 581.03 lakhs has been released in favour of these societies. 2. RKVY Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna An amount of Rs 4.42 lakhs has been released in favour of 10 Cooperative Societies for strengthening agricultural inputs |

At present 45% of K.oil, 60% fertilizers are still being distributed by Cooperative Societies and their affiliated Depots and Registration of Cooperative Societies/Cooperative under J&K Cooperative Societies Act1989 and Self Reliant Cooperative Act 1999 |
