Mission, vision, objectives, citizen charter	The main objectives of the Department are:- To increase fish production. To provide employment to educated unemployed youth by establishing Trout and Carp Units in the Private sector. To conserve natural water resources so that more and more anglers visit trout beats. The conservation measures enhance fish production in the lentic water bodies thereby giving a good fish catch to the registered fishermen. To provide welfare schemes like Housing and Nylon Twine to the registered fishermen.

Plans, programmes, schemes and projects	PMMSY (Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampdha Yojna) Scheme is in vogue wherein beneficiaries are provided subsidies for the construction of Trout and carp units. The deserving registered fishermen are provided housing units under this scheme.
