J&K Forest Development Corporation Ltd (erstwhile J&K State Forest Corporation) is a private incorporated State/Union Territory Government Company involved in Forestry, Logging & related activities on behalf of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The organization conducts scientific extraction of timber from forests and disposal of the said timber through auction and concessional timber sale depot mechanisms, thereby providing local employment, timber to consumers as well as generating revenue for the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.

Constitutional, legal and administrative frameworks

J&K Forest Development Corporation Ltd was incorporated on 03 December, 2020 under Companies Act, 2013 in pursuance to Government Order No. 669-JK (GAD), Dated: 22.06.2020.

Rate of timber provided in Concessional Timber Sale Depots being run in District Budgam is governed by Govt. Order No. 365-FST of 2018, Dated: 22.11.2018.

Plans, programmes, schemes and projects

 

The organization of the Government is involved in extraction/transportation of timber from Pir Panjal Forest Division forests and Gulmarg Forest Range of Special Forest Division, besides provision of timber at concessional rates to consumer of District Budgam and Tangmarg constituency of Baramullah District.

Services offered

The organization provides timber at concessional rates to legitimate timber consumers of District Budgam and part of Baramullah District. Application for the purpose can be made in the name of Divisional Manager, Pir Panjal West Extraction Division, Budgam along with a copy of valid ration card and aadhar card, which on verification by field staff along with photographic evidence are issued with a timber sanction. Once timber is made available in a particular timber depot, the timber is allotted against a valid sanction on first come first serve basis in order of que and revenue realized is deposited with the Government.

FAQ and Help

1.      Where to submit Timber Application: Timber application is submitted in the office of Divisional Manager, PP West Division, Budgam at Wahadat Pora, Budgam

2.      What happens once timber application is submitted: Timber application is routed to Range Manager Sales concerned, who gets the field verification done through his field staff along with photographic evidence. Once report is received, timber sanction is issued.

3.      How and when is timber allotted/provided: Timber is provided against a valid sanction on first come first serve basis (in order of pendency) subject to availability of timber which is commensurate to capacity of forests.

4.      How to pay for timber allotted: Payment has to be made purely through Demand Draft in the name of Divisional Manager, PP West Division Budgam or through QR Code at Division Office Budgam. No cash payment should be provided to any employee of Forest Development Corporation.
