Painting Completion under Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign held in Budgam

Budgam, Sep 22: Under the ongoing campaign of Swachtta Hi Seva, ADDC Budgam Khursheed Ahmad Sanai today presided the cleanliness/sanitation drive at Government Degree College Khan Sahib.

  Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC stressed on maintaining cleanliness not only in houses but also on roads, drains, public places including tourist spots and all other surroundings for the healthy society.

The ADDC asserted on proper disposal of both bio-degradable and non-biodegradable waste (plastic and polythene) and said separate dustbins should be used for the same.

Terming public cooperation as must for the success of the cleanliness mission, he urged students and SHGs to be part of the drive and take it to every household in their respective vicinities.

He said that major focus is being given on cleaning of water bodies, parks, roads, schools, hospitals and colleges during the fortnight programme. Till date under the campaign cleanliness drives at Village, Block and District levels have been done along with drawing competitions.

On the occasion, cleanliness kits which include dustbins and brooms were distributed among the members of SHGs.

The ADDC instructed all officers that the focus should be given on mobilizing the local people through community participation in the cleanliness drives.

Later, the ADDC lead a cleanliness drive rally from Degree College to Main market Khansahab in which scores of SHGs and students participated. The rally depicting placards urging general public to envisage their cooperation and support in making the campaign a success.

Present on the occasion were Principal GDC Khan Sahib, SDM Khan Sahib, BDO khan sahib and other officers and officials of different departments and students of the college.
