Administration fully prepared for upcoming polling day/DEO Budgam.

Budgam, October 06:- The District Election Officer, Deputy Commissioner Budgam Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar IAS today while addressing the media persons said that District Election machinery is fully prepared for the ensuing polling day i.e. 08.10.2018. She said all arrangements regarding deployment of security personnel, polling staff with polling material is fully ready for onward deployment as all the requisite randomization of EVMs, training to polling staff has already been concluded.

While elaborating on security arrangements, she said to ensure smooth conduct of polling and maintaining law and order designated zonal officers/sectoral officers have been entrusted the responsibility in their respective zones/sectors in this regard. The zonal officers in liaison with Returning Officers will ensure safe carriage of polling material, polling staff, to the polling stations and their safe dispensation back at collection centers/strong rooms.

Regarding the security to voters the DEO said that fool proof security arrangements have already been executed for the safety and security of voters keeping in view the sensitivity of the locations. She appealed the voters that they should come out without any fear and cast their franchise freely. With respect to the time schedule  of polling the DEO said that polling will start at 07 AM and will conclude at 04 PM, however if necessary keeping in view the voters presence in the prescribed premises it can be extended beyond time limit to accommodate all electorate.

Earlier the DEO also took stock of arrangements put in place for the ensuing polling day. She visited strong room, collection centers, material distribution centre and ascertained from the concerned staff about the readiness.
