66th/67th DLRC/ DCC meeting held at Budgam

Budgam, May 13: The District Development Commissioner, Budgam Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today presided chaired 66th/67th District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting at New Conference Hall Budgam.

Among others, the meeting was also attended by Convener of the meeting Lead District Manager Aijaz Ahmad, Chief Planning Officer Budgam Rafiq Ahmad, Director RSETI, Budgam Tahira Parveen, DDM Nabard  Junaid Hakeem, DIOB Budgam Showkat Hussain Ganai, officers of line departments, bank heads operating in the district.

During the meeting, while welcoming the participants, Lead District Manager Budgam Aijaz Ahmad presented the performance of all other banks and line departments of the district for March quarter- 2019.

Lead District Manager said that banks have disbursed an amount of Rs. 2314.67 crores against the deposits of Rs. 2716.28 crores, registering CD Ratio of 85% during the financial year. This was the increase of 3.37% over the last FY 2017-18 which had registered the CD ratio of 82%.

It was informed that of the annual District Credit Plan, Rs. 1124.18 crores and target of 37911 units were achieved against the drawn layout Credit of Rs. 758.75 crores for establishment of 45880 units during 2018-19 FY, recording the percentage growth of 148.16%.

During the financial year 2018-19, 1038 cases were sponsored by the line departments of the district out of which 679 cases have been sanctioned by the Banks. Similarly, Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) has conducted 48 awareness camps/training programs of 1029 participants. While as 441 awareness camps were held by Rural Bank branches.

The chairperson DLRC/DCC Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar while reviewing the performance and progress emphasized on priority sector lending particularly agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, handloom and education and stressed on underperforming banks to do more in lending.

Similarly she instructed line departments to coordinate with banks more effectively for better performances in sponsorship cases particularly agriculture, handicrafts / handloom, horticulture and animal husbandry.

The DDC lamented that some banks are not coming up for priority sector and stressed on  banks to come forward in lending for the uplifment of district.

Besides she also stressed on educating the unbanked area masses so that they could reap the benefits of so many schemes available for them. She said that there is huge scope for poultry farming and impressed upon showing better performances by all banks.
