DC Budgam tours hailstorm hit areas in Magam and Narbal to assess crop damages

Budgam, Sep 14: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr.Syed Sehrish Asgar today visited several hailstorms hit areas in Magam and Narbal tehsils to assess the crop damages.
During her visit, she inspected the apple orchards, crop fields including paddy and vegetables gardens and interacted with the affected farmers assuring them all possible help from the administration.
The DC was accompanied by the Revenue, Horticulture and Agricultural officers. On spot directions were given to the officers of the intending departments to prepare the tentative crop wise damage reports and submit within one day and complete reports in next three days.
Earlier, the DC ensured the constitution of joint team of Revenue, Agriculture and Horticulture to assess the losses caused due to recent heavy rains/ hailstorm in the district particularly in Beerwa, Narbal and Magam Tehsils.
Besides, she also directed the horticultural department to provide every possible help including spraying material to the affected farmers for the recovery of the crops assessed under minor damages.
