The office is involved in providing handholding support both to the existing and to the prospective entrepreneurs through various incentive schemes not to mention of facilitation services. Being the main focal point of fourth wave of industrialisation, the office is the nodal agency for the implementation of industrial policy at the district level. |
Organisational /Functional setup and directory

The office is headed by General Manager which is of level of additional Secretary Below him work Managers of Field (Project and Functional) which is of Under Secretary Level whose work is administration, Credit Facilities and also decision making. Below them work the officers of the field namely Industrial Promotion officers, Block Investigators and Assistant Extension officers. Their work is distributed according to the Assembly constituencies in the unorganised Sector and Industrial Estates in the organised Sector. The Ministerial Staff is distributed in Establishment Section, EI Section, Accounts Section and Receipt Despatch Section to carry out regular day to day activities EmailGeneralManager:- gmdicbudgam@jk.gov.in. The department is running Knitting Centres headed by Knitting Instructors to provide Knitting training to the trainees |
Constitutional, legal and administrative frameworks |
Presently the department works in accordance with Industrial Policy 2016 followed by procedural guidelines as a reference for the implementation of various Schemes related to the establishment and operation of Industrial units in both organised and unorganised sector. |
Plans, programmes, schemes and projects |
The various Schemes and programmes implemented through this office for the benefit of potential entrepreneurs and also in case of established units are as: 1. Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), the scheme aimed at employment generation by providing credit linked subsidy upto 35 % to the potential entrepreneurs for establishing micro enterprises with project cost upto 25 Lac in both manufacturing and servicing sector. 2. Under MSME Scheme the units where the project cost exceeds 25 lac can avail different incentives under state package as well as Centeral package as per the industrial policy 2016.The different Incentives as per the policy provided to the units under state package are i) 30% State Capital incentive subsidy provided on plant and machinery. ii) 3% Interest Subsidy on working capital. iii) 100 % Subsidy on DG set iv) 60 % Subsidy on installation of Pollution Controlling Devices (online) v) 100 % subsidy on quality vi) control equipments

Services offered |
The office as such offers various types of Services to the unit holders 1) Creation of Land bank by way of acquisition of government land for establishment of Industrial estates. 2) Incentives to the industrial units through Industrial Development Scheme (IDS). 3) Nodal Agency for PMEGP Scheme at District level. 4) Facilitation Services for unit holders and awareness centres regarding establishment of new units and expansion of existing units. |
