Advisor BB Vyas visits Budgam, reviews working of Revenue Department

Budgam, Dec 4: Advisor to the Hon’ble Governor, B B Vyas today visited district Budgam to review the working of revenue functionaries of the district and to take firsthand knowledge of updation of revenue records.

During the meeting with Deputy Commissioner and her team, issues of jamabandi and girdawari preparations and updation, administrative inspections of revenue offices, settlement process along with status of Ring Road came up for discussion .

Advisor while reviewing the revenue sector emphasized on doing the administrative inspections on regular basis in the district and preparation of an inspection calendar for each revenue officer of the district so that the field functionaries are more effectively mandated to work on time limit basis. He also instructed that the updation of jamabandis should be completely done immediately, so as to pave way for the speedy digitization of revenue records.

 While discussing the settlement process, he reviewed the villages where settlement was completed and discussed various issues and their possible resolutions.Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar on the occasion while giving an overview of the issues of the revenue department apprised the Advisor that presently scanning of records is being done so that the digitization of revenue records is effected expeditiously.

She assured the Advisor that village-wise digitization calendar will be prepared through ACR for completion of the process.Advisor also interacted with the revenue officials, NTs, girdawars, Patwaries of Budgam Tehsil and took stock of the record maintenance and record updation.  He himself inspected various revenue entries of jamabandi and girdawari.

The advisor also discussed, followed up with certain grievences raised by people in Srinagar, the earlier day.

In the end, the Advisor wished to do a detailed review of another Tehsil of the Budgam in the coming weeks and applauded the district administration for conduct of smooth elections and winning of e-governance award on software development on CDF from Computer Society of India (affiliated with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology).ADDC Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, ADC Budgam, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, ACR Budgam,  Zaffar Ahmad Shawl , CPO Budgam, Abdul Rasheed,  other officers and officials of the revenue department participated in detailed review of Tehsil Budgam’s revenue matters.
