Celebration of Environmental Awareness programme Kick started in Budgam DDC flagged off Mega Students rally from BHSS Budgam

Budgam, March 02: District Development Commissioner, Budgam Tariq Hussain Ganai (KAS) accompanied by CEO Fatima Tak and District PCB Officer, Fiaz Ahmad today flagged off a mega rally of students both male and female from BHSS Budgam organized in connection with celebration of environment awareness programme. Apart from students the rally was also participated by many District Officers and other local youth. The rally does many rounds in the Budgam town. The students in large number had banners, placards and other demonstrating material depicting slogans/ messages relating to celebrations of environment awareness.

Before the flag off the rally, CEO Budgam, Principal HSS Budgam, District Pollution Control Board Officer addressed the gathering.

Addressing the rally as chief guest, the DDC emphasized that for sustained cleanliness and clear atmosphere, every individual has to play his/her role. He said leaving behind previous slogans and futile exercises there is need of collective efforts from each stake holder as we have to start from basics and from our residential areas.  Everyone has to avoid throwing plastic and other non degradable items on the roads, surroundings, water resources/bodies public places, at health institutions and other public utility sites. DDC said this movement is in continuation to the drive launched in the year 2014 on 2nd October by Prime Minister himself. The DDC urged that it is responsibility of every individual to do his part in keeping environment clean and convenient for healthy and prosperous life. Pollution if not controlled can prove hazardous and destructive for every human being.

The DDC on the occasion took a pledge from all participating students to make this movement a success. Tampering with environment and nature is not development, when nature hits back it results into disaster. There is dire need of judicious use of nature and environment.
