Mission, vision, objectives, citizen charter |
PHE Jalshakti department is mandated with providing drinking water supply to all households with at least 55 Litres/capita/ day. For this purpose the department is constructing single village or multi village Water Supply Schemes across the jurisdiction under its control. The department also is responsible for maintenance of completed Water Supply Schemes. The department does its duty of providing water supply from different sources of water Viz, surface sources( Nallahs Lakes and Springs. The other sources being the Ground water. The department is also responsible for the upkeep of water bodies. The PHE department also extends Technical support to other agencies for the construction of small scale water retaining structures, on demand. The PHE department is also the service provider of drinking water for all institutions and public and private domestic as well as the commercial institutions. |

Organisational /Functional setup and directory
|
The office at District level is headed by Superintending Engineer, controlling two Divisions head quartered at Budgam and Chadura. The two Divisions are monitoring the activities like maintaining and construction works in 17 Blocks having 296 Panchayat Halqas. There are 6 Sub divisions located at Budgam, Khansahab, Beerwa, Chrarisharief, Chadura and Lalnagar. Accordingly there are 6 Assistant Executive Engineers assigned with the job of execution of the activities. At block level Junior Engineers are posted to look into the water supply issues to find the solutions for their redressal besides the execution and supervision of Water supply projects. At the village level, there are Work supervisors and Linemen and Assistant Linemen posted for the job of Maintaining the water supply. A good number of casual workers are at the back of the department to assist restoration of water supply as and when that gets disrupted due to inclement weather or any other natural calamity.
