World Red Cross Day Celebrated at Budgam. DC Budgam presides over the function.

Budgam, May 08:  A day long impressive function was organized today at Seikh-ul-Alam Conference Hall by Chief Education Office Budgam in collaboration with District Red Cross Society Budgam and Chief Medical Office Budgam.

School Children of different schools of the district participated in the function, which was commemorated in memory of founder of Red Cross and ICRC. On the occasion, importance of the day was discussed by the debating competition in which scores of children participated. Along with competition, blood donation camp was also in place.

Speaking on the occasion the District Development Commissioner, Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar highlighted the significance of the day and purpose of the Red Cross Society. She also appreciated the organizers and appealed students to cherish the noble ideals and led the principles/values of good life as espoused by the late founder of the society. She further said, District Red Cross Society collecting voluntary contributions from the people especially employees is helping thousands of needy and downtrodden sections of the society particularly widows, orphans and disaster effected.

CEO Budgam, Fatima Tak, CMO Budgam, Nazir Ahmad, DIO Budgam, Showkat Hussain Ganie, DEPO Budgam, Farooq Ahmad Raina, principals of schools, teachers and other officials were also present along with hundreds of school children.
